External Beeswax - manufactured using our unique anti-corrosive beeswax. This rich colour offers a beautiful contrast against the repolished surface areas, offering an abundance of charm and character perfect for any period dwelling. Favoured for its bright, bold appearance, Polished Chrome is well suited to contemporary designs and offers a smooth, mirror finish when polished. The From The Anvil Letter Tidy's are an attractive option for numerous door types. If left untouched, this finish will oxidise over time and naturally age to create a historically beautiful look. The products are beautifully suited to listed, cottage and period properties because of their timeless appearance. During the manufacturing process, our Black products are baked in a high-temperature oven, giving them durable, corrosion-resistant qualities. Much like our standard Beeswax, it offers a matt richness with a depth of colour, ranging from blue to deep ochre red. Aged Bronze - manufactured from solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. Available in - Aged Brass - is intentionally tarnished using an accelerated ageing process that causes a dark patina to gather around the edges and recesses of the design. Satin Chrome - crafted from a base of solid brass, with a high-quality chrome plating applied to its surface. Polished Chrome - made from a base of solid brass coated with a durable chrome plating to give an exceedingly high-sheen finish. From The Anvil designs are drawn and hand forged in the traditional fashion of English blacksmithing. This natural finish is a far softer alternative to black powder coating. For more traditional doors, we offer a separate system by From The Anvil in which the letterplate is fitted to the external face of the door, and a letterplate cover is fitted to the internal side to limit drafts. This works wonderfully in period dwellings but can also be used to bring a classic twist to contemporary properties. During the final stages of manufacturing, we apply a durable, matt lacquer to this finish which helps preserve its distinctive tones. Due to the process used to age the metal, this finish is very dark and has a rich, matt appearance.
