Our manufacturing techniques create contrasting textures on the surface of the metal to create a rich appearance with an abundance of charm. The From The Anvil Octagonal Mortice/Rim Door Knob is suitable for both rim and mortice latches. Its subtle sheen offers a bold contrast on stained and painted timber alike. It comes in two sizes and is supplied with a threaded spindle to allow for tight adjustment with an additional grub screw fix. When used with a Rim Lock simply discard one of the separate roses supplied. External Beeswax -  A signature of From The Anvil and is manufactured using our unique anti-corrosive beeswax. From The Anvil designs are drawn and hand forged in the traditional fashion of English blacksmithing. These knobs are solid cast and are unsprung, and we therefore recommend a heavy sprung latch or lock. This natural finish is a far softer alternative to black powder coating. Pewter Patina - Forged from a durable base of steel and boast a rich, luxurious appearance. Black -  A popular choice in traditional settings. Supplied in PAIRS complete with two escutcheons and fixings. This door handle comes as a pack and contains two door knobs and two oval escutcheons. Available in - Beeswax - After forging, these products are dipped into hot beeswax which allows them to retain their original colours ranging from blue to deep ochre. The products are beautifully suited to listed, cottage and period properties because of their timeless appearance. Much like our standard Beeswax, it offers a matt richness with a depth of colour, ranging from blue to deep ochre red. All our Beeswax ironmongery offers a subtle matt richness and is a more natural, and far softer, alternative to a black powder coated finish.
