Description
Manufactured in malleable iron, the Kirkpatrick Dolphin Door Knocker is based on a German 16th Century design and features a substantial curved knocker formed to suggest a dolphin rising from the water.
The fitting is arranged across two square plates. One plate provides the attachment point for the knocker, while the second is positioned at the base as a striking plate to help protect the door surface from indentations and marks during use.
This fitting forms part of Kirkpatrick’s Black Antique collection and is produced at the company’s Walsall foundry, where ironmongery has been manufactured since 1855. The range is traditionally made by skilled blacksmiths in the UK.
